Reconditioned Ryobi Miter Saw Review March 8, 2009 Miguel A. Zamora (Houston, Texas) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I found the Miter Saw in excelletn condition, in fact it is hard to tell it is a reconditioned model. I have used it extensively for some projects and I am very satisfied. The laser line marking the place where the cut is to be made is most useful because it allows you to make precise cuts. The price was excellent and think I had a great value.
Additionally, the delivery service was first class and arrived here when it was promised.
EXCELLENT SAW for the price May 1, 2009 Shawn Healey (Michigan) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought the Ryobi Compound Miter w Laser to replace a 10 year old Ryobi 10" Standard Miter Saw (a real work horse too). I do a lot of molding & finish carpentry and don't know how I ever lived without a laser saw... I'll never use a saw without a laser again! For cutting molding, I simply use a sharpie to put a dot where the cut should be...and perfect every time. The price of a factory recon w free shipping @ $75 is great. Home Depot has them new for $119 - and still a great deal. I did notice that the newer saw is much lighter duty than my old beast - but at that price it's the right saw for anyone except the Contractor / heavy use guys.
great saw except one detail August 12, 2009 bluefox (nashville, tn) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am very happy with this saw except one detail. The back fence on the saw is not tall enough. On the far left of the fence there is a very short section that is taller but the rest of the fence both left and right of the blade is too short. I realize this is made this way so there is no interference when the saw is tilted for a compound cut, but I now know other mfgs. use a flip-over section of fence. Standard 3-1/4" baseboard will not stand up straight because the fence does not clear the recessed relief cut on the back of the molding. A very poor design flaw on the part of Ryobi in my opinion. Otherwise a great saw for the price. Packaging on the part of Amazon was bad, the saw was just put in a box loose and shipped. Fortunately it arrived undamaged.

This tool is great!! I am a handyman and I had questions about buying a reconditioned machine, but now I could confirm that it is excelent option for home projects where you do not need spend a lot of money in tools. I have been used for two months I have not seen any issue.
Good saw, great price, reconditioned? June 5, 2009 A. Jolly Consumer (Austin, TX) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The saw arrived in about 3-4 days, even with super-saver shipping. At first glance, I had trouble seeing exactly *how* it had been reconditioned. It basically looked (and functioned) like a brand new saw. If I had to nitpick, the degree meter on the left-and-right sway (the part of the saw that makes it "compound") showed a tiny bit of wear and the yellow plastic saw trough had a couple small nicks. Overall, mine might as well have been new.
For the price I paid, ~$80 shipped, a better compound miter saw (with a *very* useful laser, btw) can probably not be found. If you're cutting crown molding with this, it's great. If you're cutting quarter round, also great. If you're hoping it will be a table saw substitute ... well, you're obviously limited to a 6" (or so) cut, so cutting long boards will require a different saw. That's probably obvious to most, but if not ... keep it in mind.
